About

Persevering as a lifelong student of Christ, I avidly seek an increase in knowledge and wisdom through writing.  Writing helps me create cohesiveness out of what is seemingly random. It allows me to reflect and connect, which I would seldom take the time to do otherwise.  I long to tell a story, my story, of what God is teaching me.  In doing so, I hope to encourage others to see the work God is doing in them and the potential of Him doing more than can be imagined or planned.  I long to loosen the grip of world and be free through the sacrifice of myself, my selfishness, my faithlessness, my fear.  International missions has served as the tool to pry the grip of the world off my forearm.  Global missions has become part of my DNA.  God rocked my worldview by sending me to Africa for the first time 6 years ago, and nothing has been the same since.  Since 2008, I have returned to Africa three times, most recently leading a team of 16 in June 2014.  Blessed with a like-minded husband, we seek a greater softening and humility toward God and our fellow man.

I was a school psychologist in the public school system in Northern and Southern Indiana for 14 years.  This work has been rewarding in its own way but has never felt like a ‘fit.’ In fear of aimless searching, I sat still in this work until the next step was provided, not self-inflicted.  I now stand on the threshold of a new adventure; a God-given opportunity that has been years in the making.  In 2014,  I began working for Back2Back Ministries as an inspirational writer.  God has provided the perfect outlet for my two passions, missions and writing, to be used, as I venture to express the voice and advocate for the orphan child. Thanks for reading…
